Distribution Plan

My distribution plan is to make a social media account so I can get my product to the public eye. I also plan to make a website and have a subscription service. The subscription service would be discounted for annual purchases to ensure customers view and read my magazine. This also helps with the easy accessibility for my customers. Having a website would give viewers a glimpse of what Getaway Travel has to offer which is good for attracting new customers and making them want to subscribe to either paper copies or online copies.

Travel+Leisure has social media and a website looking at there audience they have more people who go online and subscribe or view article on their social media or online. They promote their products by using social media and their website. I plan use social media as a way to get my audience up to get customers to want to come subscribe to my online articles and magazine or paper printed to get it sent straight to the their door.

Revision of article

This is my revised article. I originally used pages on Mac to make my article but I decided to use Adobe Indesign to make my article. I decided to add a picture to the article to help with the visuals and realism of the article. I also decided to make my article longer because when I transferred it to Indesign it did not fill two pages. I also decided to make my title a light blue and the headlines a dark blue to match the water. I also justified the text and made columns. I also added our Instagram tags at the bottom, along with changing the bottom picture of the village at Siesta Key. For my midterm submission I forgot to put page numbers so I did that for my revision.

Sunset magazine has different magazines such as travel, food and drink, lifestyle etc. They have social media including instagram, twitter and facebook. They have a website which has more customers then their paper copies and brings in different categories of customers. The digital magazines have a younger and less wealthy audience. This could be due to the younger people being adapted to technology. They have their magazines in stores and offices along with the website which allows a lot of coverage of their products.

National geographic has a reputation and has been up and running for a long time. National Geographic was one of the first magazine to produce a magazine with color and today they now have both printed copies of magazine and they also have an online version and have a subscription available for viewers. One thing I definitely would take from them is the option to get a digital copy of the magazine.

Traditional Distribution

The traditional research for travel magazines include distributing to coffee shops, doctors offices, and grocery stores. The traditional distributing model includes having a producer, whole sales and retailer. The huge difference I would use this by mass producing my magazine and then by having a buyer who will then sell my product to bigger companies and because of the development in technology I would possibly send free products to offices so they can continue to buy my product. I would also possibly make it so that maybe the offices will promote my subscription website if I continue to send magazines to help entertain the customers.

Our mission for Getaway Travel is to allow people from across the North Eastern region of the United States to be able to travel and see the beautiful places in and around Florida. Our target audience are people who are 18 and up. People with families are a prime customer because how family friendly our magazine is. Our customers will have to be from middle to upper class so that they can travel. Our magazine will be available for subscription online on our website for people who want to get the magazine sent right to their email. Our magazine will also be available in grocery stores and drug stores. We may also send free sample ones to doctors offices to be able to get our brand out to the public.

Revision of cover

 The first picture is the original cover of my magazine I decided that I would try to use Adobe Indesign instead of Publisher because it has more options which allow me to expand my knowledge and make my magazine look more professional. I also decided to use my original picture but export it to Photoshop to make it brighter and a little more clear with some contrast from the sky and sand along with cropping the picture. I decided to add the addition on top of the left corner I made my title bigger and not as bright of a blue. The other texts I decided to change the font and alternate the colors this helped the magazine look more relaxing and inviting. The font looks like handwriting which adds a unique feature to my magazine. Right under the title I decided to add "Florida's Best Beach Vacations" so that customers could tell that this magazine addition will be beaches.
